More than 1,000 business, civic, and community leaders gathered on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, for Broward Workshop’s 18th Annual State of the County Forum at the Broward County Convention Center. This year’s program brought together key public- and private-sector voices for a timely discussion on Broward County’s economic outlook, strategic priorities, and the innovations shaping the future of business and community leadership.

The morning featured remarks from Broward Workshop Chair Tim Petrillo; Broward County Mayor Mark D. Bogen, who delivered the State of the County address, which offered insight into the county’s vision for continued growth and competitiveness; and Florida Chamber President and CEO Mark Wilson. The forum also spotlighted Broward Workshop’s key issues and ongoing leadership role in advancing long-range priorities that strengthen the community and support a vibrant economy.

This year’s keynote address, “Beyond the Hype: AI and Robotics Applications Driving Business Success,” was delivered by Rocko Carafano, Director of Strategy & Business Operations at Amazon Robotics. Drawing from his experience leading large-scale robotic fulfillment operations, Carafano explored how AI and robotics are already transforming logistics, manufacturing, retail, and other sectors by improving speed, accuracy, safety, and reliability. His presentation offered practical, real-world insight into what leaders should be piloting now, how organizations can prepare their teams, and how to move forward responsibly while turning innovation into measurable business results.
